Senior Business Controller

Job description

Then the position of Senior Business Controller could be just the right fit for you! You will be working for one of the world's leading logistics companies and your position is dedicated to an important customer in the retail sector.

Your Role

The Senior business controller is a member of the site management team within Contract Logistics. He/she acts as a true business partner for the business unit from a financial viewpoint and is responsible for the coordination, planning, and reporting of the financial activities of the business unit.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as the right hand of the Site Manager. Advice/support in all financial matters including forecasting, accruals, investment applications, etc.
• Monitor Forwarding Sub-ledger (FSL) making sure that Kuehne+Nagel guidelines on FSL handling are met, 
• Actively participate in improvement and strategic business projects,
• Actively propose & discuss improvements with various stakeholders to increase the profitability and productivity on client, lane or activity level,
• Proactively support the business with financial and operational analysis of monthly figures and translate opportunities into gains, 
• Translate financial and operational issues into financial solutions and implement change across the business units. Responsible for month and year end closing & the yearly budgeting process of the business unit respecting internal deadlines,
• Approve costs, follow up on invoices/disputes and expense notes. Supporting in internal and external audits where and if needed.  #LI-AM4 
   

Your Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, etc.
• Extensive working experience in a similar position,
• Background and/or interest in Logistics, being familiar with retail activities would be an advantage,
• Advanced analytical thinking, ability to influence and share your opinion, ability to work in a dynamic team,
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, …),
• Fluent in Dutch and English, any other language is an asset.
