Contract Logistics Team Leader at Kuehne+Nagel Belgium
 
Your Role
As a Team Leader at our Contract Logistics site in Beringen, Belgium, you’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence on the warehouse floor. You’ll lead and coach team coaches, manage a large group of warehouse employees, and ensure that safety, productivity, and quality targets are consistently met. This is your opportunity to lead by example, foster a high-performance culture, and contribute to the success of a fast-paced logistics environment.
 
What You’ll Be Doing
⦁    Coach and support team coaches in managing daily warehouse operations to meet productivity, safety, and quality goals.
⦁    Take final responsibility for your team’s performance through clear communication, evaluations, training, and daily consultations.
⦁    Collaborate with planning, operations managers, and internal support services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
⦁    Promote and enforce safety policies through regular safety tours, incident analysis, and proactive communication.
⦁    Lead your team with a focus on long-term objectives and continuous improvement.
⦁    Ensure compliance with operational KPIs and translate them into effective on-the-floor practices.
⦁    Work in a rotating three-shift system (early, late, night) to maintain 24/7 operational coverage.
⦁    Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous development among warehouse staff.
 
What You Bring to the Table
⦁    Strong leadership skills with the ability to translate KPIs into actionable plans and ensure execution.
⦁    Experience in a retail logistics environment and with refrigerated/perishable goods is a plus. Comfortable working in cold environments (around 1-4°C).
⦁    Proven experience managing first-line managers and large teams (approximately 30 people).
⦁    A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and unite teams.
⦁    Adaptability to different situations and communication styles.
⦁    Proficiency in Excel, warehouse management systems, and MS Office applications.
⦁    Willingness to work in shifts and on weekends.
⦁    Fluency in English is essential. Dutch and/or French are nice to have.
